Faroun: Rai should express Christians’ concerns

MP Michel Faroun said Sunday that he was expecting a clarification from Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai on his recent controversial position on Hezbollah’s arms and Syria, adding that “the Patriarch’s previous positions on the arms were very clear as he considered them illegitimate and showed reservation over the section of the ministerial statement that was related to the arms, the people and the resistance.”

Faroun stressed that the Christians have many concerns, adding that it is the Patriarch’s responsibility to express these concerns and to stay in direct contact with the Christians in order to tackle vital issues that serve the national high interest.
