Alain Aoun: Lebanon is not a Syrian battlefield
Change and Reform Bloc’s MP Alain Aoun confirmed on Tuesday that the cabinet’s choice remains with the self-dissociation policy regarding the events in Syria. He also called on keeping Lebanon away from these events and not "turning it into a Syrian battlefield".

Aoun said after the weekly meeting of his bloc that after the return of one of the 11 detainees in Syria, a neutral national committee should be formed to follow this case.

Aoun hoped that the kidnapping wave in Lebanon will stop. He also stated that what FPM leader Michel Aoun said during the National Dialogue session is left for the judgment of public opinion and those who are responsible for the security.

Commenting on lifting MP Mouin Merhebi’s political immunity, Aoun said that the issue is purely judicial and that the parliament will decide. “The Justice Minister has nothing to do with it”, he added.
