President Michel Aoun addressed the protesters gathered on the road leading to Baabda presidential palace.
In his speech, Aoun said that the people have lost confidence in their country, calling for working hard on restoring this confidence.
“Corruption cannot be easily eliminated since it penetrated the public institutions decades ago,” he explained, stressing that they are fighting this corruption.
“We have put a road map with three main headlines: fighting corruption, economy and civil state,” he said, pointing out that these goals are not easily achieved and they need efforts from all the parties.
“Through you I can see the Lebanese people,” he said.
