Starting September 3, Lebanon without smoking
The 3rd of September is the day the revolution against smokers will be launched. The new law will be implemented in public and closed places: starting the 3rd of September no cigarettes, nargileh or cigars will be allowed, except in open areas.

Restaurants owners started to “curse” a government unable to impose its authority but on the tourism sector which lacks a military wing, does neither kidnap nor block roads.

In this context, a restaurant owner told LBCI that the sector will face losses reaching 25%, and around 14% of the employees will be expelled due to this law.

The 3rd of September is also the date of a counter-revolution conducted by restaurants owners, which will be implemented by a sit-in to be held in Antelias denouncing a law that threatens to expel thousands of tourism sector employees.

On the other hand the Ministry of Tourism complains about lack of tourism police charged with implementing this law, while the elements of the Interior Ministry are distributed either on traffic signs or to escort political and military community’s family members.

It is a new law testing the government’s inability and applied discretionally on those who have no power.
