LAF Command imposes strict measures during Papal visit
Due to the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Lebanon from 14/09/2012 until 16/09/2012, the Army in collaboration with other security apparatuses announced that strict security measure will be imposed to ensure the safety of the visit.      


According to the NNA, the Army directorate announced the following:                  

1 - Strict execution of the Ministry of Defense's decision  issued on 31.05.2012, in terms of stopping all licenses to carry weapons in various Lebanese regions with the exception of arms licensed for ministers' bodyguards, deputies, current and former heads of parties, and heads of religious communities. Exceptions also follow licenses to carry weapons granted to diplomats, and unions of jewelers and money exchangers issued 2012 onwards.                     

2 - Paraglides and kites will not be allowed to fly between 07/09/2012 and 17/09/2012 over the area of Jounieh and the area around the residence of the Pope in the Apostolic-Harisa. "
