Geagea responds to Raad, says “they are exploiting Palestinian cause”

Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea said on Friday that he has been keeping a close eye at the events of the Arab Spring, adding that those events are “grander than political dealings”.

During a workshop on "Lebanon's role in the renaissance of the new Arab world", Geagea responded to MP Mohammad Raad’s remarks accusing the affiliated political team of “using the Palestinian cause to suit their own interests.”

Raad had commented during a press conference on Friday on the March 14 camp's memorandum to President Michel Suleiman that demanded the expulsion of the Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali and the deployment of UNIFIL troops on the Lebanese-Syrian border.

Israeli leaders committed a major mistake when they did not hold peace talks before the eruption of the Arab Spring, he then added.
