Fatfat to LBCI: Electoral law based on smaller districts is the most suitable
Future bloc MP Ahmad Fatfat announced on Wednesday that the bloc rejects the draft election law based on proportional representation and endorses the one based on smaller districts “since it addresses the fears of Christian representation and that of weapons.”

Fatfat told Nharkom Said that the Future bloc endorses March 14’s decision regarding the electoral law, adding that it is seeking to secure a majority in Parliament.

He said that the bloc is against the return to the 1960s electoral law, pointing out that neither of the past electoral laws uphold the verdicts of the Taif agreement.

On the disputes that took place during the Joint Parliamentary Committees’ session on Tuesday, Fatfat said that the Future bloc had to respond to accusations voiced by Loyalty to the Resistance MP Nawaf Moussawi stating that their bloc is similar to a "militia".
