2 Israeli agents arrested in Hasbaya

The LAF’s Intelligence Directorate arrested an Egyptian citizen and his Lebanese wife in Hasbaya on suspicion of collaborating with the Israeli Intelligence Services.

The LAF said in a statement that the couple has been under close surveillance and investigation at their place of residence, leading to their arrest. When interrogated, the man confessed that he had been collaborating with the Israeli Intelligence Services since 1999, that he entered Palestinian territories 3 times and received money for security services he provided to his Israeli case officer.

The man also confessed that his wife, also arrested, was aware of his collaboration with the Mossad.

Security forces seized a transmitter, a CD-ROM containing aerial pictures of civilian and military targets in the south, and an Israeli SIM Card at the couple's house.

Inquiries with the couple are ongoing under the supervision of the Judiciary in order to uncover how much they were involved in security and intelligence services for the enemy.
