Rai: Aoun and Mikati must take decisive step to defuse Gulf crisis

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai called on Sunday to take a "decisive step" to defuse the crisis with Gulf states over critical comments made by Information Minister George Kordahi about the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen.

Rai’s comments were made during his Sunday sermon in Bkerke whereby he called on President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati and every concerned person to defend Lebanon and the Lebanese residing in Lebanon and abroad.

On another note, Rai stressed that nothing is more important than the rights of Beirut blast martyrs and their families, as well as the rights of those injured and displaced as a result to the explosion.
