Hamieh continues his official visit to Iraq

Minister of Public Works Ali Hamieh confirmed on Sunday that a number of understandings have been reached with Iraq to forward work in all areas of transportation.

Hamieh’s comments were made after meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Captain Nasser Hussein Bandar al-Shibli and head of the Iraqi Border Ports Authority Major General Omar Adnan al-Waeli durig his official visit to Iraq.

He went on to say that Iraq will continue to facilitate the transportation of aid from Iran to Lebanon via Iraq, as well as Iraqi aid, in order to get it to Lebanon as swiftly as possible.

Minister al-Shibli, for his part, emphasized the importance of joint collaboration and experience sharing between the two countries, which helps to develop joint work and serve the public interest.

He also emphasized the necessity of transporting Lebanese commodities through Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, as well as other border crossings used through Turkey-Kurdistan and then to Iraq, as well as collaboration in the air and sea transportation sectors.
