President Aoun: It is high time for full truth to be known about circumstances of catastrophic Beirut Port explosion

President Michel Aoun asserted on Friday that he is keen on the independence of the juridical authorities.

Aoun’s comments were made during a meeting with a delegation from the Chouf town of Reshmaya who visited him to follow up on the arrest of Director General of Customs Badri Daher.

Aoun also met with a delegation formed of families of Beirut Port blast arrestees.

Both delegations said that they are waiting for the issuance of fair judicial sentences in this regard.

“It is high time for the full truth to be known about the circumstances of the catastrophic Beirut port explosion and responsibilities, and to stop political investment and invoking immunities, privileges and legal loopholes that paralyze the ability of the competent judiciary to prosecute, accuse and convict,” Aoun said for his part.
