EU welcomes sea border demarcation agreement between Lebanon, Israel

The European Union warmly welcomed on Friday the signing of the maritime border demarcation agreement between Lebanon and Israel, congratulating both countries on this landmark achievement and praising the role of the US in facilitating negotiations.

“This historic agreement will contribute to the stability and prosperity of the two neighbors as well as to that of the wider region,” the EU indicated.

The EU also encouraged the parties to continue their constructive engagement.

The EU affirmed that it stands ready to continue developing its partnerships with both Israel and Lebanon, and to support efforts towards regional cooperation for the benefit of all.
