Frangieh: Syria stronger than ever, regime will survive

El Marada Movement leader Sleiman Frangieh said that Syria is subject to a foreign plot, adding that the strength of president Bashar Assad, the love of his people and the army’s solidarity made Syria’s foes miss the opportunity to harm it.

“When they could not achieve what they wanted through violence, the conspirators used sectarian tensions”, Frangieh said when hosting the delegation of the Syrian National Unity Youth that is visiting Lebanon.

“The awareness of Assad, the leadership and the people in Syria thwarted the plot”, he said adding that Syria is overcoming its plight stronger than ever, and that the regime will survive in the face of “the strongest winds and storms”.

Frangieh said that the relationship between Lebanon and Syria will remain solid. “It is a relationship of brotherhood, friendship and common positions, and no plot or threat will change this fact”.
