Security breaches feature high on Higher Defense Council’s agenda

The Higher Council of Defense discussed on Wednesday the latest security breaches in Lebanon in general, and in South of Lebanon in particular, mainly after growing Israeli air aggressions.

The council also tackled the kidnapping accidents taking place in Lebanon.

Following the meeting in Baabda, Secretary General of the Council Maj. Gen. Adnan Merheb read the council's statement whereby he briefed security apparatuses on the latest developments, urging them to take the necessary measures to prevent any violation of civil peace and to implement laws on everyone equally.

Prior to the meeting, President Michel Sleiman held a closed meeting with PM Najib Mikati.
