Sleiman hopes Libya will return to the Arab fold

President Michel Sleiman hoped on Friday that Libya’s ordeal will end soon and that the country will open a new chapter in history by building a modern democracy.

“I hope that Libya will return to the Arab fold and will play its full role within the Arab League on the grounds of mutual cooperation and respect,” he added.

Sleiman held a meeting with Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Ignatius IV Hazim in the Presidential Palace, during which they discussed the general situation and the importance of preserving the Christian presence in the region.
