Geagea: Cabinet should resign today before tomorrow for the sake of Lebanon

Lebanese Forces Leader Samir Geagea urged the cabinet on Friday to “resign today before tomorrow for the sake of the Lebanese, since it has not and will not do anything,” adding that “the cabinet is one-sided but with different quotas.”   

Geagea added, during a press interview in Mearab, that “the cabinet should make a positive move by resigning before inflicting damage on Lebanon,” adding that “the cabinet is busy with the grand strategy for the Middle East and is far from being concerned with the citizen’s affairs.”  

Commenting on U.N. Chief Ban Ki-Moon’s recent report on incursions by Syrian troops into Lebanese territory, Geagea asked “Could it be possible that Ban is venturing a statement of which he is not sure?”   

“It is a very serious matter and many people abroad are talking about it, except for the Lebanese government,” he added.   

Geagea said that “the sole solution for the Syrian incursions lies in establishing military bases from Arsal to el-Qaa in order to control the Lebanese border.”     

Commenting on the Syrian situation, Geagea said “the National Dialogue called for by the Arab League is useless,” adding that “Reformers deploy futile efforts. Once we see a small loophole in the regime, we consider that the regime has come to an end.”      

In his concluding remarks, Geagea confirmed that the economic crisis should be settled through the economic bodies, workers and the cabinet, and not by silencing workers with 200, 000 LBP; this is a mockery to workers!”
