Refaat Eid: Moderate Sunni's are leaving Tripoli in light of rising fundamentalism

Arab Democratic Party leader Refaat Eid held a press conference on Wednesday whereby he warned on growing threats facing the Alawite community in light of high arm and human trafficking taking place on a daily basis in the Tripoli region.

Eid mockingly congratulated March14 officials for fomenting strife, especially in Northern Lebanon, Arsal and Abra.

In this regard, Eid added that the moderate Sunnites are fleeing Tripoli toward Koura, stressing that retaliation will not be light should provocations continue”.

On the elections, Eid said that the Orthodox Gathering proposal settles the electoral battle, adding, “We are a country compelled to reach consensus but the polls will be difficult for Lebanon with the absence of regional agreements".
