MP Walid Jumblatt calls on Hezbollah to spare Lebanon sectarian wrangling

National Struggle Front leader Walid Jumblatt said on Friday that the resignation of the government was not related to the file of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) Major General Ashraf Rifi but to protect the Information Branch.

In this context, MP Jumblatt said : "We are working for the country's interest and we hope that the situation will not get worse".

On another note, Walid Jumblatt called on Hezbollah to spare the country sectarian wrangling, and stressed that the policy of dissociation should take effect.

On elections, MP Jumblatt called on the Lebanese parties to reach a new law or else the elections will be based on the 1960's electoral law, adding that he respects the Lebanese constitution and numerous deliberations will be held in order to form a new government.
