Harb: Cabinet is failing to maintain security
MP Boutros Harb told Voice of Lebanon radio station that the events taking place in the village of Tarshish are ample proof of the cabinet’s failure to tackle security issues and reach breakthroughs in several fields.

“Remarks made by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel about the possibility of renewed waves of political assassinations in the country prove that the security situation is fragile,” Harb said.

Harb stressed that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) was created upon a decision taken by the UN Security Council under Chapter 7.

“The STL is standing on its own, it does not need a green light from the Lebanese government to press on with its work”, Harb added.

Harb called on the cabinet to take full responsibility for its actions, adding that the Lebanese refuse a government that serves as a “farm” for some parties.
