Gunman arrested while driving aimlessly after Maameltein robbery

Jounieh police station arrested “Mohammad A.D.”, born in Bab el Tebbaneh on Wednesday at dawn after robbing a store in the region of Maameltein.

In details, at 1:30 am, two gunmen robbed a “mini market” in Maameltein – Jounieh owned by Amina Ismail. They stole around 1,400,000 LBP from the cash register as well as prepaid phone cards, and fled in a car parked outside the store.

The owner immediately called the security forces, giving them a description of the vehicle and its plate number. The description was broadcast to all security entities in the region, and at 4:00 am, a patrol from Jounieh police station, with the help of two emergency patrol vehicles, arrested “Mohammad A.D.” wandering around in the car near the scene of the crime carrying an automatic weapon.

The thief is detained at Jounieh police station, and investigations are ongoing to identify his companion.
