Syrian troops plant mines by Lebanese border

A local Lebanese official told AFP that Syrian troops planted landmines Thursday along a region bordering the region of Wadi Khaled, north of Lebanon.

“The troops began planting the mines early in the morning in the Syrian territories at the mounds of earth separating the towns of Heet and Buwayt on the Syrian side and the towns of Knaysseh and Al-Hnayder on the Lebanese side”, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
