REPORT: Assir vows escalation until Hezbollah's apartments are completely shut down

Imam of the Bilal bin Rabbah mosque Sheikh Ahmad Assir said that he will not stop his movements before "re-establishing Lebanon's prestige and ending violence in Syria".

Sheikh Assir denounced during the Friday prayers the actions of Hezbollah as well as the stances of the Future Bloc and other "Islamic parties" pointing out that Hezbollah is "taking full control over the state's apparatuses".

In this regard, Assir said that his stances regarding Hezbollah and Iran are political.

"We will not end our movement before closing Hezbollah's apartments in Abra," Sheikh Assir asserted.

Following the prayers, Sheikh Assir and his supporters held a demonstration in Sidon.

In March 2013 Sheikh Ahmad Assir said that Hezbollah's apartments in Abra predate the construction of the mosque, adding that these apartments being used as storage space for weapons and ammunition increased as of the 7th of May 2012.
