Sidon’s sub-security council bans Sheikh Ahmad Assir from holding demonstrations

The sub-security council of Sidon considered on Wednesday that the call made by the Sheikh of the Bilal bin Rabah Mosque, Ahmad Assir to hold a protest on Friday and another on Sunday in Sidon threatens, according to a report made by security apparatuses, the security situation in Lebanon.

In this regard, the Security Council decided after a meeting under the chairmanship of South Lebanon's Governor Nicolas Abou Daher to ban these demonstrations as well as the counter demonstrations which will be held by Sheikhs Khoder el-Kabsh and Mohammad al-Qawwas.

They also decided to interdict all marches, demonstrations, and gatherings that lead to sectarian strife.

On another note, the Security Council called for taking appropriate security measures in order to maintain the security situation at the Ain el-Helwe refugee camp.
