Speaker Berri meets with Syrian ambassador

Speaker Nabih Berri met on Monday with the Syrian ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdel Karim Ali in Ain el Tineh.

Following the meeting, ambassador Ali said that the crisis witnessed in Syria aims to weaken the country, noting the US, Saudi, French, Qatari and Turkish role in this regard.

He called on all sides to stop arm smuggling and insurgency into the Syrian territories, reiterating the commitment of the Syrian regime to achieving victory.

He also reiterated the Syrian regime's suggestion to expand an international inquiry into chemical weapons use in Syria.
