Egypt's Ambassador in Beirut urges efforts to prevent escalation, sees chance for dialogue

Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa said Friday that avoiding further deterioration in the country's political and security landscape is the only viable path forward, expressing cautious optimism about the coming period.

Speaking from Baabda Palace after meeting with President Joseph Aoun, Moussa said the next phase "may carry positive developments," noting that he meant "real opportunities for dialogue and attempts to find common ground that can be built upon to address the crisis."
