MP Frangieh reiterates support for Hezbollah

MP Sleiman Frangieh reiterated on Wednesday his support for Hezbollah, mainly in its fighting in Syria's al-Qusayr.

He noted that the revolution taking place in Syria aims to destroy the axis of resistance.

MP Frangieh declared that he holds weekly contacts with Syrian President Bachar al-Assad since the uprising in Syria, adding that "President Assad's morale is very high."

MP Frangieh's statement came during a celebration on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Resistance and Liberation Day held in the Lebanese University - Hadath, where he asserted that Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon aimed to ultimately disarm Hezbollah.

On the elections, MP Frangieh said that the upcoming parliamentary elections are important, asserting however that civil peace in Lebanon remains a top priority.
