4000 women partake in Beirut Marathon 2013

About 4000 women participated on Sunday in the Beirut Marathon 2013 in a bid to raise awareness over gender equality, to put an end to physical and political violence, to achieve fair quota at the parliament and eradicating legal discrimination.

In this context, thousands of women ran in the 5 and 10 kilometers categories along Ras-Beirut seafront.

Lebanon's First Lady Wafaa Sleiman attended the marathon alongside Caretaker Minister of Information Walid Daouk and Caretaker Minister of Education Hassan Diab.
