LBCI sources: Trump to partly chair direct Lebanon–Israel talks in Washington

Sources to LBCI said that U.S. President Donald Trump will preside over part of the direct talks between Lebanon and Israel scheduled on Thursday in Washington.

Hiba Nasr, Washington bureau chief for Asharq News, also stated that Trump will join the meeting between Lebanon and Israel.

The report said Trump is expected to take part in a segment of the negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, marking an unusual level of direct presidential involvement in the diplomatic process.

The talks are expected to focus on arrangements related to de-escalation and the framework for continued negotiations between the two sides, amid ongoing regional tensions.
