MP Bassil after meeting Berri warns of internal instability, calls for broader national dialogue on Lebanon unity

MP Gebran Bassil said after meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri that “external war is far easier than internal conflict.”

Bassil said the two discussed ways to strengthen Lebanon’s internal front, protect the country and reinforce national unity through solidarity, adding that broader national consultations are the best way to consolidate these ideas within a unified national framework.

He added that southern Lebanon is facing “systematic destruction and displacement” of its residents, describing the situation as a deliberate attempt at change that must be confronted through internal solidarity.

Bassil also warned that Lebanon is experiencing internal instability and stressed the need to safeguard national unity.
