Minister Charbel voices support to ISF members deployed in various Lebanese regions

Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel voiced on Saturday his support to Internal Security Forces members deployed in various Lebanese regions, and considered that this institution gave a large number of martyrs in order to maintain Lebanon’s stability.

Minister Charbel told Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) that the city of Tripoli has been witnessing throughout the past 2 years continuous clashes and sufferings, adding that the Lebanese Armed Forces set a plan to maintain the city’s stability and they will not refrain from it.

On the electoral file, Minister Charbel said that the Ministry of Interior needs a maximum period of 6 months to organize the elections on the basis of the 1960 electoral law if the Constitutional Council accepts the appeal against extending the parliament’s mandate.

“The Ministry would require more time if it were to organize the elections on the basis of a hybrid law, “Minister Charbel concluded.
