Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed concern that the comprehensive support provided by the United States and several European countries to Israel has reached a disturbing point for the countries in the region, and there is a possibility that control may slip away from the parties. Amir-Abdollahian revealed in a press statement to the "IRNA" agency upon his arrival in New York that Iran expresses its positions at the United Nations General Assembly meeting regarding regional developments and closely consults on the developments with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Regarding the veto on the U.S. resolution, he said that "Russia, the United States, and Brazil presented proposed draft resolutions on the Palestinian issue, and the resolutions proposed by the United States and Russia were not approved. Now, the proposal presented by Brazil in its capacity as the rotating president of the Security Council is listed on the agenda." The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that Hamas is a Palestinian liberation movement that has acted against the phenomenon of occupation, and this comes based on international law that grants the right to operate for liberation movements whose countries or parts of their countries are occupied. "Therefore, what relates to the actions of the resistance factions and Palestinian liberation factions is entirely rooted in international law and the Charter of the United Nations."
