IMF opens regional office in Riyadh

The International Monetary Fund announced on Wednesday that it will open a new regional office in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to strengthen partnerships with governments and institutions in the Middle East and other regions.

The statement added that Abdoul Aziz Wane, a Senegalese national, has been appointed as the first director of the regional office.

The Saudi Cabinet approved an agreement to establish a regional IMF office in the country in March.
