REPORT: Lebanese citizen Jean Assy freed on bail

Lebanese citizen Jean Assy was freed on bail on Tuesday after the anti-cyber crime office interrogated him for several hours.

Earlier, Jean Assy was called in for questioning for having tweeted some unfavorable remarks regarding Lebanese President Michel Sleiman.

Assy told LBCI that interrogations focused on old tweets published on his twitter account reportedly attacking President Sleiman.

He appeared before the investigations unaccompanied by an attorney and has been placed under house arrest.

His case is pending further investigation at the General Prosecutor Court of Cassation.
