REPORT: Investigations underway with Mohammad Saleh

Investigations are underway with Mohammad Saleh who was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the kidnapping of two Turkish pilots.

In this regard, the General Prosecution is currently being briefed on all relevant investigations while it is cooperating with the concerned authorities before taking any action.

Sources told LBCI that “it is unlikely to take any legal action against Saleh before Friday,” adding that members of the families of the Aazaz hostages are being summoned for investigation.

It is also worth noting that the Turkish ambassador to Lebanon Inan Ozyildiz visited the Internal Security Forces (ISF) General Directorate in order to tackle the case of the abducted Turkish pilots.

On Friday the 9th of August, gunmen intercepted a Turkish Airlines' bus at the Cocodi Bridge in Beirut and kidnapped two crew members, a pilot and a co-pilot. The bus carrying the crew members was heading from the Beirut International Airport towards a hotel in Ain El-Mrayseh.
