REPORT: Syrian national killed in suspicious blast inside his home in Halat

A Syrian national identified as Moussa Mustafa Ibrahim was killed on Tuesday after a “suspicious object" exploded at his residence in the town of Halat, near the coastal town of Jbeil.

Civil Defense members transferred the victim's body to the Bwar governmental hospital where an autopsy will be conducted by forensic Pathologist Nader Hajj.

This as security forces launched investigations in order to reveal the circumstances behind the incident while the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau arrested the victim's brother, his brother’s wife and his roommate identified as Rafic Bassil.

In turn, the State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr headed to the town of Halat and inspected the scene of the crime.

Army Command:

The Army Command - Orientation Directorate issued a communique later in the day confirming the death of the Syrian national Moussa Mustafa Ibrahim "killed after a 250 gram explosive device detonated at his residence on Halat marine road."

In this regard, the military police was tasked with investigations into the incident under the supervision of the relevant judicial authority.

Sources also told LBCI that the explosive device found in Halat resembles a bomb that was found in the possession of a Syrian national last Sunday in the same area.
