REPORT: LAU students protest against tuition fee increase

A number of students at the Lebanese American University (LAU) staged on Monday a protest inside the university campus, denouncing the administration’s decision to raise the tuition fees by 6 to 12%.

The students refused to attend classes, warning the administration of escalatory moves in case their demands were not met.

Accordingly, the LAU’s administration suspended four students for participating in the protests, and set up an interrogation committee that will investigate with them before allowing them to attend classes and again.
