REPORT: LAU retracts decision to suspend 4 students

The administration of the Lebanese American University (LAU) retracted on Tuesday its decision to suspend four students, and returned their university ID cards allowing them to access the campus and attend classes.

However, the interrogation committee will be holding investigations with the mentioned students on Wednesday after "they violated the university’s rules and regulations."

For their part, the students stressed that they will continue their movements in protest against the increase in tuition fees.

On Monday, the LAU’s administration suspended four students for participating in the protests staged inside the campus to denounce the university’s decision to raise the tuition fees by 6 to 12%.
