REPORT: Two Syrian raids hit Lebanon’s Arsal, mortar shells target Baalbek

Syrian warplanes raided on Thursday the town of Arsal and launched four air-to-surface missiles which hit the Soumeily region of the town, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Syrian warplanes also carried out another raid near Wadi Hamid in Arsal, but no casualties were reported.

This comes after mortar shells were fired from the Syrian side on the outskirts of Seriin and Tebshar in Baalbek, with no casualties reported.

Also on Thursday, two rockets landed in Hermel near Imam Sadr Foundation School.

Shelling from the Syrian side also damaged other Lebanese border towns which have bore the brunt of the cross-border attacks.

This comes as a result of the fighting taking place in Syria between Syrian government troops and rebels seeking to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.
