REPORT: ISF members release Syrian arrestee suspected of involvement in Tripoli twin blasts

Members of the Internal Security Forces Information Bureau released on Tuesday the Syrian national Jamil Aziz al-Hassan after raiding his house in Anfeh on suspicion of having links to the twin blasts that rocked Tripoli in Aug. 23, 2013

ISF members seized during the raid a surveillance camera installed outside his residence.

Al-Hassan had been monitored by the security forces for months on suspicion of having contacts with a number of fugitives.

On Friday the 23rd of August, two explosions rocked the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli near the al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques, leaving 45 people killed and almost 500 others injured.

The blasts came amid rising tensions in Lebanon resulting from Syria's civil war, which have sharply polarized the country along sectarian lines and between supporters and opponents of the regime of President Bashar Assad.
