A reconciliation meeting was held at Mazraat al-Chouf on Sunday between al-Beini and al-Fatayri families, under the sponsorship of the head of the Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt and the head of the Tawhid Party Wiam Wahhab.
In this context, Jumblatt said that “this reconciliation heals a wound that we have long considered a personal incident,” expressing gratitude to Wiam Wahhab in his regard.
For his part, Wahhab stressed that the Lebanese’s only choice is to cooperate since the country is heading towards a rough period, calling on supporting the state’s choice and helping the security apparatuses and the army in order “to put down a political fire.”
