REPORT: Manal Assi’s husband sentenced to death

The indictment in the case of Manal Assi’s murder was issued on Thursday against her husband Mohammad Nouheili, convicting him of murder, and sentencing him to death in accordance with the article 549 of the Penal Code.

The said article stipulates that intentional murder must be punished with death penalty.

33-year-old Manal Assi, mother of two, was tortured and beaten to death by her husband before her sister and mother's sight.
