Lebanese Armed Forces deployed in Arsal managed to check their identities and were able to control the borders, preventing any armed men from entering into Lebanon.
It is worth noting that the influx of refugees is still continuous, and the number of Syrians who crossed to Arsal on Saturday reached 700.
Syrian forces took control of Flita and Ras Maara on Saturday after driving out rebels, state media said.
The fall of the said villages near the Lebanese border, two of the last rebel bastions in the area, is likely to push militants and refugees over the border into Lebanon, risking further destabilizing the Mediterranean country whose own 15-year civil war ended in 1990.
