REPORT: Security forces conduct raid operations in Lebanon's Bekaa

Security forces beefed up their measures on Saturday and conducted numerous raids in Bekaa, including the area of Darel-Was'ah, west of Baalbek, the state-run National News Agency reported. 

Lebanese Armed Forces soldiers also tightened their grip on the Sharawneh neighborhood in Baalbek and carried out raids in search of suspects

Also on Saturday, the Army Command- Orientation Directorate announced that one of the most dangerous fugitives was arrested, as part of the tight security measures undertaken by Lebanese army units in Bekaa.              

Ali Khodor Jaafar, known as Ali al-Chaar, is wanted on kidnapping charges and accused of attacking members of the security forces.       

On Friday, the LAF proceeded with the implementation of the Bekaa security plan which aims to arrest dangerous fugitives and restore calm to a region that has bore witness to several attempts at inciting strife.         

Army units raided on Thursday the whereabouts of several wanted men in the Bekaa town of Britel and arrested a man identified by his initials as A. M. on kidnapping charges.          

The LAF also raided homes suspected of harboring fugitives, arrested a wanted man (N.M.) in the town of Hawrtaala and seized two stolen vehicles.  
          
Investigations were launched with the detainees under the supervision of the concerned judiciary.
