REPORT: Future bloc announces support to LF leader Geagea's run for presidency
Lebanese Forces MP Setrida Geagea stated on Monday that March 14 forces will go united to Wednesday’s session to elect a new president, adding that there is no benefit in boycotting the session and disrupting the quorum.

Following a meeting with Kataeb Party leader Amine Gemayel, MP Gemayel stated that the Kataeb party will hold a meeting this afternoon to take a decision regarding the presidential elections.

For his part, MP Walid Jumblatt said following his meeting with LF delegation in Clemenceau that he will attend Wednesday's session .

Similarly, the delegation visited National Liberal Party leader Dory Chamoun and handed him over Geagea's presidential program.

The delegation visited also Prime Minister Tammam Salam in Msaytbeh for the same purpose.

This as Future bloc MP Ahmed Fatfat announced after holding talks with LF delegation full support to LF chief Samir Geagea in his presidential bid.

Three weeks ago, the Lebanese Forces executive committee meeting declared the candidacy of LF leader Samir Geagea for the presidency.

President Michel Sleiman's tenure ends in May, but the constitutional period to elect a new head of state began on March 25.

Heavily influenced by the war in neighboring Syria, and host to more than a million refugees, Lebanon has struggled to control a deterioration in security and an economic slowdown.

In February, Lebanon formed a new government, breaking a 10-month political deadlock during which a caretaker government with limited powers was in charge.

Many Lebanese hope that a working government and the election of a new president will bring stability and leadership.
