REPORT: Bou Saab: Official exams will take place; even if in 'an unprecedented way'
Education Minister Elias Bou Saab said Saturday that the issue of the series of ranks and salaries has become a matter of great importance and national interest, calling on the parliamentary blocs to pass the pay scale during Tuesday’s session.

During a press conference held following his meeting with the union of private educational institutions, Bou Saab noted that he will meet with all the parties in order to reach an agreement over the pay scale, stressing that the issue can no longer be delayed any further.

While stressing that he will keep on supporting the teachers in their struggle, Bou Saab expressed his understanding to any decision to be issued by the Union Coordinating Committee in case of failure to approve the scale.

“The country will be heading towards a great crisis, should the concerned authorities fail to pass the pay scale,” he said, stressing that the official exams will take place, “even if it was in an unprecedented way.”

In this regard, the minister pointed out that the UCC is also concerned with the interests of the students.
