In a rare public appearance, Hezbollah’s Nasrallah took part in the Al-Quds Day ceremony held at the Sayyed Al-Shouhadaa Mosque complex in Beirut’s Southern Suburbs, expressing his condolences to the relatives of the Lebanese victims of the Air Algerie plane that crashed on Thursday in Mali.
On another note, Nasrallah paid tribute to the victims of Gaza, and the "steadfastness of the Palestinian people who are capable of resisting the Israeli aggression."
Nasrallah also hailed the Resistance in Lebanon and its fighters, as well as the Lebanese people for their “victory against Israel in the July 2006 war."
“As days pass, we realize the importance of Imam Khamenei’s announcement to designate the last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramadan as Al-Quds International Day,” emphasizing that Israel’s main goal is to annihilate the Palestinian cause.
Nasrallah added that Israelis are aware of their inability to defeat the Palestinian people, stressing that they created a central conflict for each Arab country in a bid to distract it from the Palestinian cause.
“Despite all conspiracies and plots, the Palestinian cause imposed itself on the region and the entire world,” Sayyed Nasrallah claimed, emphasizing that the situation in Gaza today is proof that the said cause remains strong.
"The Palestinian people refuse subordination and hopelessness on a daily basis, and have rejected defeat since 1948."
“When talking about a conspiracy to eliminate the Palestinian cause, we are talking about an Israeli-American plot supported by a variety of Arab regimes,” Nasrallah said.
In this regard, Hezbollah’s Nasrallah emphasized that “the situation in Gaza today is at its worst,” stressing that the enemies of Palestine were previously destroying the land, but are now focusing on killing the people.
On a broader note, Nasrallah denounced the suffering of Christians and Muslims in the entire region including Iraq, pointing out that the destruction of mosques and places of worship may lead to the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israelis.
He also stated that the entire region is passing through times of hardship, with Palestine taking center stage, adding that the main reason behind the war on Gaza is imposing the authority of Israelis on the Palestinians.
Nasrallah stressed that all Lebanese nationals should be aware of the situation in Gaza seemingly since they faced the same aggression in 2006 when the international community stood still and some Arab regimes held the Resistance accountable for the offensive.
In this context, Nasrallah said that the only solution for the situation in Gaza can come through the resilience of its people.
“The Resistance in Gaza is capable of achieving victory, and so it will,” he exclaimed.
Nasrallah also said that since the year 2006, Israel has been working on establishing a strong army, and is currently facing the Gaza Strip which has been under the most inhumane circumstances imposed by the embargo, emphasizing that this matter proves that Israel failed in achieving its goal.
He stated that “up until now there is no clear reason behind the aggression on Gaza,” adding that the Israeli army is fearful and confused.
“When heading to the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army did not go as a combatant army, but went for a murderous rampage against innocents instead."
Hezbollah’s Nasrallah said Hamas is firing rockets towards Tel Aviv despite all the Israeli intelligence and security efforts, stating that steadfastness and victory in Gaza will lead to new equations in the region.
“The Resistance in Gaza will impose a solution on the Israeli enemy.”
Nasrallah added that some Arabs are calling for the elimination of the Hamas movement, stating that those who do not want to voice their sympathy with the people of Gaza should not voice any other position.
In this context, Nasrallah stated that Arabs should support the Resistance and reject any ceasefire or truce based upon Israeli conditions.
“We should not forget that Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah did not refrain from supporting the Palestinian Resistance. Hezbollah will always stand by the side of the Palestinian people and its Resistance,” Nasrallah stated.
Sayyed Nasrallah concluded by saying that Hezbollah is following up closely on the situation in Gaza, and addressed the Resistance in Palestine by saying: “We are sure that you will be victorious.”
