REPORT: Lebanon's cabinet convenes at the Grand Serail
A cabinet session convened on Thursday at the Grand Serail, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

Prior to the session, Minister Nabil DeFreij said that the objection of the Kataeb party and the Free Patriotic Movement to the renewal of the Sukleen contract is "wrong."

For his part, Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi said the file of the abducted troops will remain at the top of the cabinet’s agenda, as long as a solution has not yet been reached.

On another note, Rifi supported the proposal of MP Elie Keyrouz concerning the elimination of the military court.

Following the session, Information Minister Ramzi Jreij said PM Salam reiterated the need to elect a new president in a bid to revive the work of the country's constitutional institutions.
