REPORT: Hezbollah leader says takfiri terrorists more insulting to Prophet Mohammed than cartoons
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a televised speech Friday for the occasion of Prophet Mohammed's birth.

In his speech, Nasrallah saluted the officers and soldiers of the Lebanese army and the Islamic resistance who are deployed on the border and “are protecting the country against Israeli and takfiri terrorist attacks.”

On another note, Nasrallah said that some terrorist groups are linking themselves to the banner of Islam through "their indecent, terrible and inhumane practices."

He also noted that these terrorist groups have insulted the Prophet of God and the Islamic nation “more than the cartoons.”

The Hezbollah leader stressed that there are missions that must be assumed, including the duty of presenting the world with the Prophet Mohammed's teachings, portraying the solidarity of the Islamic nation in the face of takfiri groups and exerting efforts to eradicate them.

Nasrallah urged the Lebanese media to abstain from aggravating the public by disseminating unfounded information, thus serving terrorist groups. He also noted that the Lebanese people do not need assistance. “We will defeat all those who intend to attack Lebanon just as the Israelis were defeated,” he added.

As for dialogue between Hezbollah and the Future Movement, Nasrallah reassured the Lebanese people that it is moving forward due to the commitment  of both parties.

"Although the dialogue will not resolve the dispute over the defense strategy, the weapons of the resistance or military involvement in Syria, nor will it be a replacement to other talks that need to be held by other parties, it can lead to tangible results against the wishes of some," he said.

He also voiced support to any talks to be held between various parties and groups in the country.

Hezbollah and the Future movement agreed during Monday’s dialogue session to support efforts deployed to “continue the implementation of the security plan across Lebanon,” announcing that they have made “progress” to ease down Sunni-Shiite tensions.

The dialogue is being held under the auspices of Speaker Nabih Berri at his residence in Ain el-Tineh.

Talks began on December 23 between the two rival parties and the first session was aimed at setting a “road-map” and a “mechanism” for the next sessions.

Another dialogue session is scheduled to take place between Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun.
