After nearly four years of conflict in Syria, the Kurds have been avoiding any clash with the forces of the Syrian regime, until recently, as clashes erupted for the first time between the two parties across the city of al-Hasakah, where the Kurds and the regime used to share control, in accordance with an agreement reached last year.
According to the agreement, the Kurds took control over 30% of the neighborhoods, where the majority of the population is Kurdish, while the regime forces controlled the rest of the city where the citizens are Arabs.
