REPORT: Activists stage sit-in outside Finance Ministry
Activists from "We Want Accountability" and "Go Away" staged on Tuesday morning a sit-in outside the Finance Ministry to call for stopping the transfer of the salaries of MPs.

The Internal Security Forces deployed in the region and closed the entrance of the ministry’s building to prevent protesters from entering.

Meanwhile, Beirut police chief Major General Mohammed al-Ayyoubi arrived at the Finance Ministry building.

The civil society has been staging protests since the garbage crisis erupted in July following the closure of the Naameh landfill that received waste from Beirut and Mount Lebanon.

The protests grew into a popular uprising against the political class that has dominated the country since its civil war ended in 1990.
